Food Drive

With so many New Yorkers experiencing hunger and hardship, the BID is holding a food drive through December 23rd to benefit the Food Bank For New York City, the city’s major hunger relief organization. The BID is collecting non-perishable foods such as canned fruit, canned vegetables, peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, and hot and cold cereal at the North Flatiron Public Plaza during Live on the Plaza events.

Donations are also accepted online which double – or even triple – the amount a dollar can provide at the grocery store. Click here to donate.

Social Media Contest

Visitors to see Flatiron Sky-Line are invited to share their photos and experiences on Twitter and Instagram. Share your photos on social media using the hashtag #FlatironSkyLine to be entered to win prizes from local businesses. Prizes include dining gift certificates, fitness memberships and classes, tickets to performances, and much more. A winner will be picked each day during "23 Days of Flatiron Cheer."

Flatiron Public Plaza Holiday Design Competition

Anchoring "23 Days of Flatiron Cheer" is the BID's holiday installation, which was selected through the annual Flatiron Plaza Holiday Design Competition in partnership with Van Alen Institute and permitted through NYC DOT Art, in which a curated list of designers and architects proposed concepts for the holiday season.

This year, the winning design is Flatiron Sky-Line by LOT. The piece is a series of 10 large contiguous arches, constructed of white powder-coated steel tubes with LED lights. Hammocks suspended from the arches allow visitors to relax and gaze upon the district’s architectural sights. For more information about Flatiron Sky-Line, click here.

Flatiron Holiday Installation Launch Event

On Monday, November 21st, the Flatiron/23rd Street Partnership Business Improvement District will kick-off the holiday season with the unveiling of Flatiron Sky-Line and the launch its fifth annual “23 Days of Flatiron Cheer” programming.

The event previews “23 Days of Flatiron Cheer,” which runs from December 1st to the 23rd and features free, holiday-themed events showcasing the intersection of shopping, dining, and culture in the neighborhood. Along with the opportunity to experience Flatiron Sky-Line by LOT for the first time, the event will feature small bites from ilili BOX and hot chocolate sampling from Shake Shack, live music by The Jazz Gallery, and a chance to spin to win on the popular Flatiron prize wheel filled with gifts from local businesses.
