New Neighbor: Sushi Shop

Sushi Shop opened their third New York City location last week on Park Avenue South in the Flatiron District. This fast casual French chain has over 100 restaurants in eight countries, including France, Spain, Italy, Belgium, and United Arab Emirates.

The Flatiron District location caters to the office crowd during lunch. Whether you are getting sushi to-go or to-stay, you can “follow the fridge” to select a combination of items for your meal or pick up your pre-ordered items by proceeding directly to the cashier. Sushi Shop offers lunch specials with six Lunch Box options with sushi, sashimi, and maki rolls ranging from 12 to 18 pieces. All Lunch Boxes come with edamame, iceberg lettuce salad, and a side dish option of miso soup or rice.

After 4:00 p.m. Sushi Shop turns into a full service restaurant, though you can still opt to get take-out. Dinner options include shrimp tempura salad; “Salmon Lovers” with 18 pieces of salmon sushi and maki rolls; and the “Black Box,” filled with 56 pieces of assorted sushi and rolls. The restaurant has 40 seats with a communal table at its center. The interior is decorated with warm wood throughout, giving the room a simple yet refined feel.

Hours are 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily.

Sushi Shop, 323 Park Avenue South, corner of East 24th Street, (212) 840-5555.
