New Neighbor: The Clocktower

After much anticipation, The Clocktower restaurant, located on the second floor of The New York EDITION, is now open. The restaurant takes its name from the Metropolitan Life Clock Tower that was once home to the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company.

The Clocktower is a collaboration between Stephen Starr and British Michelin-starred chef and restaurateur Jason Atherton. The restaurant is Chef Atherton's first outpost across the Atlantic and Starr Restaurant's second restaurant in the Flatiron District; Upland was their first.

The Clocktower embodies The New York EDITION’s philosophy of casual elegance and provides an all-day dining destination. The restaurant, designed by David Rockwell, is composed of three dining rooms that together seat up to 90 guests, a billiards room, and a bar. The menu features seasonally-inspired contemporary cuisine with British sensibilities and will feature a variety of dishes ranging from twists on traditional British fare to updated takes on more classic dishes. The bar serves up both classic and contemporary cocktails, a diverse selection of wines, and local and global beers.

Breakfast is served daily from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Lunch is served daily from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Dinner hours are Sunday to Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Thursday to Saturday 5:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

The Clocktower, 5 Madison Avenue, corner of 24th Street, (212) 413-4300.
