New Neighbor: Porcelanosa

Last week with great fanfare, Porcelanosa celebrated the grand opening of its NYC showroom on Fifth Avenue at 25th Street in the Flatiron District. A leader in innovation, design, manufacturing, and distribution of luxury tile, kitchen, and bath products, Porcelanosa undertook a complete renovation of the former Commodore Criterion building to create its new US headquarters.

“The Flatiron neighborhood has become a destination area not only for the design industry but also for shopping, tourism and much more, which made it the right fit for Porcelanosa. We are excited to have our flagship showroom, (our 25th in the US) right in the heart of New York, in a building that is a staple in the community with such exposure and strong history,” said Santiago Manent, Sales and Marketing Director for Porcelanosa.

The building was originally built in 1918 and was purchased by Porcelanosa in 2012. Pritzker Prize winning architect Lord Norman Foster, along with architects from Foster+Partners, brought a modern interior reflecting Porcelanosa’s style while preserving the historic façade.

Over 1,000 products are available in the eight floor showroom. A full floor is dedicated to a material library with touch-screen displays to assist in the visualization of Porcelansa’s products.  The building also features a café, bar, and lounge area and will be LEED Gold certified by the United States Green Building Council.

Showroom hours are Monday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
