BID Program Spotlight: Clean Team Summer Update

The Flatiron BID’s Clean Team works tirelessly year round to keep the Flatiron District looking its best. Whether you’re strolling around the neighborhood or just hanging out on the Flatiron Public Plazas, you've no doubt noticed that even with the summer heat the team is working to make sure that you have a clean and comfortable experience.

During the summer months, pedestrian activity in the Flatiron District greatly increases as people look to enjoy the warmer weather or participate in one of the BID’s fun Summer Series events on the Public Plazas. To accomodate this increase in foot traffic, Clean Team staffing is expanded with additional workers and more service hours. From May 1st until October 31st, the Clean Team, including specialized maintenance workers, has a presence in the neighborhood from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on weekdays and 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on weekends.

Additionally, there is a member of the Clean Team dedicated to making sure that the Public Plazas are meticulously maintained for the enjoyment of all. In addition to monitoring the accumulation of trash, team members are responsible for the plaza furniture - putting it out each morning, keeping tables clean and clear each day, and securing the furniture at night.

The BID’s Clean Team is contracted through Streetplus (formerly Atlantic Maintenance), and overseen by the BID’s Director of Operations, Scott Kimmins. Learn more about the Flatiron BID’s Clean Team here
