Summer Series 2019

The Flatiron Summer Series is eight weeks of free programming for the community by the community. The Flatiron/23rd Street Partnership Business Improvement District (BID), in partnership with local businesses and organizations, provides free classes & activities on the Flatiron Plazas, at the intersection of Broadway, 23rd Street, and Fifth Avenue.

Talk Tuesday in partnership with General Assembly: Tuesday, June 18th - Tuesday, August 6

Introducing Talk Tuesdays, a take on the original Tech Tuesdays, which provides a platform for you to hear directly from influential neighborhood organizations.

Featuring a wide array of partners, Talk Tuesdays will include educational and cultural talks on topics like female empowerment, savvy PR plan development, brand recognition, the arts, and local community engagement. 

Talks begin at 6 pm on the Flatiron South Public Plaza. Classes are free and open to the public.

Wellness Wednesdays: Wednesday, June 19 - Wednesday, August 7

Enjoy free fitness classes every Wednesday from 6 pm to 7 pm on the Flatiron South Public Plaza. Frequently referred to as "The Fit District," Flatiron's Wellness Wednesday series is designed to bring some of the city's most popular studios to you!  Whether you are a yogi, a strength training fanatic, or a dancing newbie, take advantage of Wellness Wednesday. 

A free sample of Argo Tea's refreshing lemonade will be provided to participants after class.

Throwback Thursdays in partnership with The Home Depot: Thursday, June 20 - Thursday, August 8

We are out on the Flatiron North Public Plaza all day every Thursday this year with lots of fun activities for the whole family. Starting at 11 am, there will be games including Giant Jenga, Giant Connect 4, cornhole and other family favorites. Every Thursday, from noon - 2 pm, kids' workshops will be set up thanks to Center for Book Arts, Wonder Photo Shop, PLAYDAY and Home Depot. Then, join us in the evening from 6 pm to 7 pm for performances by local talented artists. 

Summer Scoops will be continuing this year, so be sure to stop by on select evenings for free gelato courtesy of Eataly and free Frozen Custard courtesy of Shake Shack

MoMath Summer Solstice Celebration: Thursday, June 20

Come celebrate the Summer Solstice on Thursday, June 20th. From 7:30 am to 6:30 pm. The BID and The National Museum of Mathematics (MoMath) will host a giant sundial on the North Public Plaza. Cast your shadow to mark the time and help create a large-scale human timepiece and lave your personal mark on a jumbo sundial banner.
