Valentine's Day Walking Tour

In advance of Valentine’s Day, professional guide Fred Cookinham will kick off a celebration of love and romance with the Flatiron/23rd Street Partnership‘s themed Valentine’s Day tour of the historic Flatiron District on Sunday, February 10th. Participants will have the opportunity to walk through the iconic neighborhood and explore the love stories of famous New York City figures—and Fred will provide holiday treats!

Participants will traverse the neighborhood and explore sites that that hosted presidents, actors, and business moguls—including the famous Victoria Hotel, where two-term U.S. President Grover Cleveland and his wife Frances Cleveland resided, the old Madison Square Garden, located at 26th Street and Madison Avenue, and the Madison Square Theatre, located at 24th Street and Broadway.

The arts have a way of pulling people together, especially in a time of need - as Cookinham will discuss during the tour, providing other examples of love stories (some ending in tragedy) in the Flatiron District.

WHERE: Please meet at the tip of the Flatiron Building, on 23rd Street just east of 5th Avenue (rain or shine).

WHEN: Sunday, February 10th at 11 am
