Food Drive to Benefit Urban Pathways

Throughout the year we partner with Urban Pathways to reach out to homeless individuals in the Flatiron District with the ultimate goal of placement in permanent housing. The Partnership is holding a food drive through December 23rd to benefit Urban Pathways and the clients they serve.

We are collecting non-perishable foods such as canned fruit, canned vegetables, peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, and hot and cold cereal, as well as personal care items at the Flatiron North Public Plaza during Live on the Plaza events.

Donations are also accepted online which can double or even triple the amount a dollar can provide at the grocery store. Click here to donate.

Holiday Themed History Tours

Meet at the tip of the Flatiron Building, on 23rd Street just east of Fifth Avenue for a 90 minute journey with a holiday twist. Our professional tour guides walk you through this vibrant neighborhood, taking in some of the City’s most notable landmarks.

Flatiron's 2019 Holiday Art Installation:

Anchoring "23 Days of Flatiron Cheer" is the Flatiron/23rd Street Partnership holiday art installation, selected through the annual Flatiron Plaza Holiday Design Competition in partnership with the Van Alen Institute. This year, the winning design is Ziggy by New York-based team Hou de Sousa.

Ziggy is a polyvalent creature that strings together gateways, apertures, and seating,” said Josh de Sousa, Principal & Co-Founder of Hou de Sousa. “This porous wall will welcome folks arriving from all directions while ringing in the holiday season with a flourish of color and light.”

Read more about Ziggy here.

Special thanks to Presenting Sponsor Meringoff Properties and Supporting Sponsor 212 Fifth Avenue for making this year's holiday installation possible.

Holiday Installation Launch Party

On November 18, The Partnership kicked-off the holiday season with the unveiling of this year's holiday art installation, Ziggy, and a preview of the eighth annual “23 Days of Flatiron Cheer”.

Along with the opportunity to experience Ziggy by Hou de Souza for the first time, the event featured small bites from Eataly, hot chocolate from Shake Shack, live music from from The Jazz Gallery featuring the duo Kengchakaja + Niall Cade, and a chance to spin the popular Flatiron prize wheel filled with gifts from local businesses.

Holiday Sponsorship

Presented by the Flatiron/23rd Street Partnership, Ziggy and the accompanying programming "23 Days of Flatiron Cheer" is made possible with generous support from Presenting Sponsor Meringoff Properties and Supporting Sponsor 212 Fifth Avenue.
