Celebrate the Launch of "New York Light" on Tuesday, Nov. 25th

Please join the Flatiron Partnership to kick off the holiday season in the Flatiron District and "23 Days of Flatiron Cheer" by celebrating the lighting of New York Light by INABA on Tuesday, November 25th at 6:00 p.m.

From 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in addition to reveling in the beauty of New York Light, visitors to the Public Plaza will be treated to hot tea from DAVIDsTEA and a chance to win prizes from local businesses with a spin of the prize wheel. Just before 7:00 p.m., The Peoples Improv Theater will perform.

Remarks will be made by Jennifer Brown, Executive Director, Flatiron/23rd Street Partnership; Wendy Feuer, Assistant Commissioner, Urban Design, Art & Wayfinding, New York City Department of Transportation; Jon Yaged, President, Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group (Contributing Sponsor of "23 Days"); Stephen Meringoff, Principal, Meringoff Properties (Presenting Sponsor of “23 Days”); and David van der Leer, Executive Director, Van Alen Institute.

The installation was selected through the first-ever Flatiron Plaza Holiday Design Competition, in partnership with the Flatiron-based Van Alen Institute, in which a curated list of designers and architects proposed concepts for the holiday season. New York Light illuminates the plaza and provides visitors with a special view of the Flatiron building and the Madison Square skyline this season. The design is the result of a collaboration between the Brooklyn-based INABA, bengal.fierro, Tillotson Design Associates, Robert Silman Associates, Walsh Electrical Contracting Inc., DLC, International Lights, Crestron, Bartco Lighting, and Naho Kubota.
