New Neighbor: Dos Toros

The Flatiron District welcomes Dos Toros, a fast-casual Mexican joint located at Park Avenue South and East 23rd Street. Dos Toros was founded by two brothers Leo and Oliver Kremer from the San Francisco Bay Area who grew up eating at their favorite taqueria.

According to their website, "Our focus on food is obsessive. We've spent countless hours perfecting our recipes. We source high quality ingredients, because fresh and local tastes better. And we promise that the artisan who puts it all together, in front of your eyes, shares our passion for excellence. The menu is short and sweet, so you can spend more time eating and less time trying to figure out what to order. And don't be afraid to make substitutions -- we know that just because we flip out over guacamole doesn't mean you do too. But try the guacamole."

The Flatiron District location is the sixth establishment by Dos Toros. According to the team, "A big reason we're so excited about this location is that we feel like we're right at the crossroads of 23rd and Park which is such a major artery, but by being on Park instead of being on 23rd, it's a little more cozy. The coolest companies in the city are headquartered in this district, from tech startups to media to fashion. Lastly, we love being near Madison Square Park, because we think that eating a burrito on a park bench is one of life's great pleasures."

The menu features burritos, tacos, quesadillas, and salads, with one of four protein options: carnitas (braised pork), pollo asado (grilled chicken), carne asada (grilled steak), or basic (rice and beans). Dos Toros is also serves Mexican beers and offers catering from this location.

Hours are Monday through Friday 11:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Dos Toros, 295 Park Avenue South, between 22nd and 23rd Street, (347) 946-6225.
