Office Of Citywide Health Insurance Access at the Business Assistance Forum

On Wednesday, March 25th, you are invited to join the Flatiron BID and Baruch College for a networking breakfast and small business assistance forum at 8:00 a.m. Maria Torres-Springer, Commissioner of the NYC Department of Small Business Services, will provide the morning's keynote address. Attendees will select one of four concurrent workshops taught by Baruch College Continuing and Professional Studies, General Assembly and NYC Business Solutions.

At the event, the Office Of Citywide Health Insurance Access will have a resource table with information and literature for individuals and businesses. They will also address questions at the table. 


  • Open Enrollment dates for Individuals (February 15th was the last day for open enrollment for 2015 coverage)
  • Special Enrollment Period for those who experience a life-changing event after open enrollment such as: having a baby, losing a job and insurance coverage, moving, etc.
  • Special Enrollment Period for those facing tax penalties for not having insurance in 2014
  • Next Official Enrollment Period for Coverage in 2016

Small Businesses

  • Health Care Tax Credits
  • Benefits of Offering Employees Health Care Insurance
  • Sharing health insurance costs with your employees
  • Helpful hints to choosing a plan for your business
  • (Small businesses can purchase health insurance for the employees all year-round. There are no open enrollment periods.)

Event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
