New Neighbor: TheRUN

TheRUN, an indoor running studio utilizing treadmills, opens their first studio in the Flatiron District on Thursday, April 16th. TheRUN was founded by John Henwood, a representative for New Zealand in the 2004 Olympic Games, and Nikki Nolan, who has a background in business development. The studio is equipped with 20 treadmills with state-of-the-art technology, a centralized instructor podium, locker rooms with showers, and a retail boutique.

Whether you are a running novice or a seasoned marathon runner, TheRUN has a class just for you! TheRUN offers four types of classes: The Shaper, The Endurance, The Velocity, and The Long Run. In addition to these classes, TheRUN also offers a beginners program: Stroll to Stride 5km. This is an ideal program if you want "to go from sedentary to running 5k or running nonstop for 30mins, in just 8 weeks." Each 45-minute class is composed of running and walking, exercises, and stretches.

Every workout at TheRUN is tailored to your running pace and ability. Once you enter the studio, you simply enter your name and pin on the treadmill app, and the treadmills will adjust the speed and incline throughout class without needing to press a single button. If you are new and unsure of what your natural running pace (NRP) is, arrive to class early and the instructor or staff will assist you.

If you book a treadmill at TheRUN during their grand opening week (April 16 - April 22), you could win a 5 class package

TheRUN, 24 West 25th Street, between Broadway and Sixth Avenue, (212) 731-9149.
