Shut the Front Door: #BeCoolSaveFuel

Today, Wednesday, July 22nd, is the Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA)'s Shut the Front Door Business Education Day. DCA organized hundreds of volunteers throughout the City to walk along dozens of business corridors to let store owners know that they can protect the environment and save money - simply by shutting the front door!

When you keep store doors shut when air conditioning is running during the summer, you can:

  • Save over $1,000 on electric bills,
  • Prevent the unnecessary release of more than 2.5 tons of carbon dioxide, and
  • Save 5 barrels of oil.

If you are a business owner and did not get a visit by a DCA volunteer today, you can download the #BeCoolSaveFuel flyer here.
