New Neighbor: Rocco Steakhouse

Rocco Steakhouse opened its doors on Thursday, September 3rd, and greeted guests with white-glove service. Owner Rocco Trotta partnered with Pete Pjetrovic, former General Manager at Wolfgang's Steakhouse, and Jeff Kolenovic to bring their elevated take on the classic American Steakhouse to the neighborhood.

Rocco Trotta's passion for hospitality was inspired by his father, who owned a luncheonette in Brooklyn, where he developed his passion for fine food and wine with friends and family. Rocco and his partners have a high standard for hospitality and service, and they have highlighted experience as their uniqueness: "Every employee has worked for at least 10 years at a top New York steakhouse."

The space, designed in collaboration with David de Angelis, is light and bright, with floor to ceiling windows fronting Madison Avenue. Upon entering the space, guests are greeted by a wall of beverages to the right and an accent wall of Giallo di Sienna stone to the left. Gold and silver accents are seen throughout the main dining room and in a more intimate room in the back.

Executive Chef Johnny Jevric has more than twenty year of culinary experience. The USDA prime beef is dry-aged onsite in the restaurant’s aging box. The restaurant also uses fresh seafood, poultry, vegetables and other produce sourced from local farmers, butchers and other local businesses.

Hours are Monday through Thursday 12:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Sundays are reserved for private parties only.

Rocco Steakhouse, 72 Madison Avenue, between 27th and 28th Streets, (212) 696-9660.
