BID Program Spotlight: Fall Plantings

As temperatures in NYC begin to drop, the BID's landscaping firm, A. Bulfamante Landscaping, has been transitioning the district's streetscape to the fall display. Last week, decorative cabbages were planted in the BID's 169 tree pits in the Flatiron District, along with cabbage and kale within the Park Avenue South median malls, from 21st Street to 28th Street.

The team also replaced the summer plantings in the BID's 148 standing planters with cabbage, kale, and other fall foliage in the Flatiron Public Plazas along Broadway and Fifth Avenue from 21st Street to 24th Street.

Later this fall, the BID will add hanging baskets along Sixth Avenue, and soon you will also see gold thread cypress in all of the neighborhood's hanging baskets.

We would love to see your photos of the fall display, tag us on Instagram or Twitter with @FlatironNY!
