  • Earlier this month, a pair of Flatiron District restaurants was honored as two of the winners of the 2016 James Beard Foundation Restaurant and Chef Awards. Daniela Soto-Innes, chef de cuisine of Cosme, received the James Beard Award for Rising Star Chef of the Year, while Eleven Madison Park received the James Beard Award for Outstanding Service (via DNAinfo).
  • May was also an eventful month for the Flatiron BID with the release of its summer public programming lineup in the Flatiron Public Plazas. The Summer Series will return in 2016 with free tech classes, fitness sessions, board games, crafting, and other activities. The Summer Series will launch with an event on the June 20th Summer Solstice in partnership with the National Museum of Mathematics (MoMath). Programming will continue the next day and run on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays through August 11th (via DNAinfo).
