New Neighbor: Pondicheri

Pondicheri is the latest restaurant to open in NoMad, the northwest corner of the Flatiron Business Improvement District. The Indian restaurant is currently open for casual breakfasts and lunches, as well as take-out. Later this month, more formal dinner service will begin.

The menu includes a wide variety of Indian dishes like stuffed rotis, samosas, chaat salads, and curries. Pondicheri also offers many gluten-free and vegetarian dishes, and an entirely vegetarian "Meatless Monday" menu.

Pondicheri is the first NYC restaurant for James Beard Award-nominated chef Anita Jaisinghani. Jaisinghani is the chef and owner of two restaurants in Houston - Indka and the original Pondicheri. New York's 27th Street outpost is also home to the Bake Lab, an innovative all-day pastry shop led by pastry chef Ashley Dickson. Some of the Bake Lab’s signature items, some of which can also be found on the menu in Houston, include Chai Pie, Chocolate Chili Cookies, and Butter Chicken Kolache.
