New Neighbor: Barry's Bootcamp

Flatiron is getting fitter with the recent opening of Barry’s Bootcamp on 27th Street and Park Avenue South. This is their fifth location in New York City. CEO Joey Gonzalez said of the new location "We listen to where our community wants us to open! Park Avenue South is an exciting intersection in the city where many Barry’s clients live and work—we are so excited to give them their own studio and offer the Barry’s experience to another New York City neighborhood."

Flatiron is indeed a truly mixed neighborhood of residents, office tenants, and tourists alike, and Barry’s has the perfect combination of cardio and strengthening in a one-hour High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workout. HIIT combines high-energy bursts of activity with short periods of low-energy activity.

The class is broken down into equal parts cardio runs on Woodway treadmills and floor exercise, which incorporates weight training and resistance work. Each day of the week is focused on a specific area of the body. For instance, Mondays are focused on arms and abs and Tuesdays are dedicated to legs and butt. On weekends, Barry’s offer a full body program to round out the week.

Grab a smoothie or protein shake after class at the FuelBar. You can reserve a drink ahead of time when you book online or before class.

Hours are Monday through Thursday 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 6:45 p.m., and Sunday 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
