Vote for One Book, One New York

New Yorkers are invited to cast their vote by February 28 for one of five books for One Book, One New York, a citywide initiative to bring New Yorkers together around one literary piece. Voting is taking place online and at digital kiosks on subway platforms. Each of the book’s publishers have donated 4,000 copies to over 200 library branches in the five boroughs.

Organized by the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment and BuzzFeed, the contest’s book titles include: Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates, The Sellout by Paul Beatty, The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Díaz, and A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith. The winning author will be invited for a special conversation at the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building in June, and NYPL branches will organize events in the coming months. Books are available for purchase in the City's independent bookstores including the Flatiron District’s own Rizzoli Bookstore.
