Protected Fifth Avenue Bike Lane (23rd to 8th Street)

NYCDOT is proposing to upgrade the existing buffered bike lane on Fifth Avenue from 23rd Street to 8th Street to a parking protected lane to improve safety for all road users. Painted pedestrian islands will shorten crossing distances for those crossing Fifth Avenue and mixing zones will improve intersections with left turns while maintaining the existing number of vehicular through lanes.
