New Neighbor: Sweaty Betty

On Tuesday, May 19th, Sweaty Betty, a British women's active wear brand, opened their third US boutique on Fifth Avenue in the Flatiron District, noting that the area is "an ideal location for a spot of the city’s much-loved act of ‘sweatworking’."

Sweaty Betty designs and creates premium active wear for women and ensures that styles meets performance whether for a quick yoga class or a long evening run. Sweaty Betty's purpose is "to inspire women to find empowerment through fitness." While getting settled in their new neighborhood, NYC roadshow manager Lauren Lorow visited some of the Flatiron District's best destinations, see her full list of favorites on the Sweaty Betty blog!

Sweaty Betty offers two free in-store classes each week: barre on Mondays from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and yoga on Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. If you can't make it in-store, Sweaty Betty also offers classes online.

Sweaty Betty opened their first storefront location in 1998 in Nottinghill, London, UK. The store was sandwiched between a pawn shop and a 24-hour convenience store. Since then, the company has come a long way with more than 40 boutiques in the United Kingdom and three boutiques in the United States.

Hours are Monday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Sweaty Betty, 168 Fifth Avenue, between 21st and 22nd Streets, (917) 639-3376.
