New Neighbor: The Little Beet

The gluten-free, fast-casual restaurant The Little Beet expands into the NoMad neighborhood--the northwestern corner of the Flatiron Business Improvement District. This is their fourth location in New York City, and the brand's second location in this area.

Andy Duddleston, Operating Partner, said of the new location, "We've always been fans of the Flatiron neighborhood. With so many new developments and the fully-revived Madison Square Park nearby, it's been on our hot list of areas to open The Little Beet." He added that the proximity of Little Beet's full-service sister restaurant, The Little Beet Table, gives their customers both a fast casual and table-service option within a few blocks of each other.

The Little Beet's menu focuses on seasonal protein and vegetables. For breakfast, expect dishes such as quinoa oatmeal with chai spice and skim milk, served hot; raw oatmeal with organic rolled oats with pureed dates, maple, cinnamon & nutmeg, served cold; and a selection of egg sandwiches.

During lunch, The Little Beet offers "Rolls & Bowls." Choices of rolls include chipotle chicken and tofu & mushroom rolls, rolled-up in nori seaweed, sushi burrito style. Bowls include mushroom poké and salmon poké (pictured), served with avocado, seaweed slaw, watermelon radish, and pickled ginger over brown sushi rice.

Hours are 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

The Little Beet, 1140 Broadway, between 26th and 27th Streets, (212) 367-8015.
