New Neighbor: The NoMad Bar

Last week, the long list of reasons to visit the northern section of Flatiron District known as NoMad grew by one with the opening of The NoMad Bar at The NoMad Hotel. The bar, which has a separate entrance on 28th Street, features a casual menu inspired by traditional pub fare - pub fare as envisioned by the team behind Eleven Madison Park and The NoMad! Think: chicken pot pie with black truffles and foie gras.

A wide variety of beer and wines are available, along with reserve cocktails featuring "exceptionally rare and special spirits."  For larger groups, "Cocktail Explosions" serve six to eight and come with a warning of "be careful."

The space feels like a seamless extension of the hotel with lots of mahogany, luxurious fabrics, high ceilings and a working fireplace. View a video of The NoMad Bar, here.

The bar is open: Sunday from 4:30 p.m. - 12 midnight; Monday and Tuesday from 4:30 p.m. - 1 a.m.; Wednesday through Saturday from 4:30 p.m. - 2 a.m. Food is served from 5 p.m. until one half-hour before last call, daily.
