The Flatiron District was as busy as ever in October. Noteworthy restaurants and bars received media attention, new tenants moved to the district, and Flatiron-based companies announced plans to lease additional office space in the district.   • Iconic neighborhood restaurant Eleven Madison Park reopened its doors in the Flatiron District earlier this month after a months-long renovation. The revamped restaurant from co-owners Daniel Humm and Will Guidara features a redesigned interior, a new streamlined tasting menu, and an overhauled cocktail program (via Vogue). Even the clothing at Eleven Madison Park received an update, as Flatiron-based designer Todd Snyder created new custom suits for the restaurant’s servers (via GQ).
  • Eleven Madison Park wasn’t the only district business that made headlines this month, as The NoMad was named the best bar in North America on this year’s ranking of “The World’s 50 Best Bars” (via Eater NY). Also new in October, Parisian-inspired Doux Supperclub opened its doors at 59 West 21st Street. Doux features a café and bar, as well as a larger lounge space (via Gothamist).
  • New tenants continued to seek out Flatiron District office space in October. Coworking space provider Knotel announced that they signed a 10-year, 25,000 s/f lease at 55 West 21st Street (via Commercial Observer), while Scotland-based premium liquor company, Edrington Americas, signed a 10-year, 25,390 s/f lease at 27 West 23rd Street (via The New York Post).
  • In other real estate news, a number of companies already based in the Flatiron District announced plans to expand and lease additional office space in the neighborhood. Notable October signings included media company theSkimm moving to an expanded 22,000 s/f office at 50 West 23rd Street (via Commercial Observer) and online published BDG Media leasing an additional 17,000 s/f at 315 Park Avenue South (via Real Estate Weekly).
