New Neighbor: Scarpetta

The Flatiron/23rd Street Partnership is proud to welcome long-time NYC fave, Scarpetta, to the neighborhood. Scarpetta is LDV Hospitality’s signature restaurant concept that first launched in New York’s Meatpacking District. After 10 great years in its flagship location, the restaurant moved to its new home in the Flatiron District, at The James New York – NoMad, located at 88 Madison Ave. The new iteration of Scarpetta has core elements of the original space but a bit bolder, with an expansive new bar & café, along with a larger dining room, and a 30-person private dining room. Executive Chef Jorge Espinoza continues to lead in the kitchen after being a part of the team since inception.

"The Flatiron neighborhood is dynamic and alive, it feels connected to New York’s past with its iconic architecture and the charm of Madison Square Park and at the same time represents the city’s future with young professionals, international hotel guests, and colorful residents," says John Meadow, President & Founder of LDV Hospitality. "It has the quintessentially New York balance of authentic character and elegance, which Scarpetta has always aspired to capture. This move and the new location marks a significant evolution for our brand, and we're so excited to see it come to life with new and existing guests alike."

The Italian expression, “fare la scarpetta,” describes the gesture of taking the little boot-shaped piece of bread to soak up the remaining sauce left in the pot of one’s home kitchen. The restaurant’s name is derived from this familial gesture and represents the indulgent pleasure of savoring a meal down to its very last taste. In 2008, Scarpetta received a James Beard nomination for ‘Best New Restaurant in America’ as well as a coveted three-star review from the New York Times. Scarpetta has additional locations in The Hamptons, Newport, RI, Philadelphia, Miami, and Las Vegas.

Scarpetta is open for dinner at 5:30 - 10pm Monday - Thursday, 5:30 - 11pm Friday, 5pm - 11pm Saturday, and 5pm - 10pm Sunday.

Scarpetta will open for Sunday Brunch beginning on April 15th, along with breakfast and lunch on Monday, April 16th, and will also be serving a special Easter brunch on Sunday, April 1st from 11:30am – 3:00pm.
